Environmental management

Every year we carry out a reforestation day on the airport plateau. Three native species of the dry ecosystem are planted: Carob (Acacia macracantha), Tara (Caesalpinia spiny) and cholán (Tecoma stans). 

In the 2022 monitoring, the following relevant data was obtained: 

• In 9 batches a total of 5245 live plants were registered. 

• There is an increase in height of the plants in several lots. 
• The importance of the planted species allows the control of the dunes, the capture of nitrogen from the air and its fixation in the soil, the incorporation of organic matter from the decomposition of its leaves and branches, the creation of a microclimate for the development of other species.
